it’s kinda crazy how refined the art style looks even a few years into the manga. i feel like the anime takes ages for its style to truly hit its stride, but in the manga most of the characters already look really on model by arabasta

something neat about reading the drum island arc: totally forgot the first mention of blackbeard is in this chapter. also the first mention of ace and his pursuit of blackbeard. neat little foreshadowing
