My friend, plz allow me to lighten your outlook. With the dominance shown in the first half of the Brighton game, it was totally realistic to expect 3 goals by the end!

But if Gyokeres and Martinelli had scored another goal, the pressure and tension would have been relieved.

I think you misunderstood both Benge and me. As Benge articulated, Arsenal defense has been outstanding and it would be unrealistic to expect a clean sheet every game in this league. That came at a cost bc forwards were helping defensively and not available for counterattack.

Much of this issue would go away if Gyokeres starts scoring. He needs to adjust his runs to put himself in the same position as Martinelli did on that near miss against Brighton. Too often he arrived too early for the cross.

Lest I irritate the fan base even more, by convincing I mean winning by not relying on own goals by the other team. Remember Eze’s hat trick against Spurs?

Another observation that is more puzzling is what appears to be the drop off In Odegaard’s impact, until yesterday. Some of the fan base have reacted strongly to this comment, but the last time Arsenal had a run of games with convincing wins was when the captain was out with injury.

Too often a cross arrives behind Gyokeres. The miss by Martinelli may offer insight. With defenders running towards the goal, Martinelli dropped behind them and slotted in between two defenders at the right time.

One doesn’t have to be an Arsenal fan to question the inability to score from open play. Gyokeres is an old fashioned striker, that may work well in other leagues. But most other strikers who have done well in the PL tend to be more involved in moving the ball upfield.

That’s not a serious question from any fan, let alone a sports writer, of the most competitive league in the world. Would Liverpool had won the title last year if they had played Mo Salah as goalkeeper in their last 10 games?

That book is full of lies and misinformation. The editors at @princetonupress.bsky.social and reviewers at @newyorker.com should have asked themselves - did I learn anything credible from this book?

Please consider that “Cambridge” conjures nothing good historically.

@princetonupress.bsky.social, @newyorker.com you should all be ashamed for promoting this revisionist propaganda.

The problem is the x-axis. “Expected “ and “value added” add up to a very fungible quantity. The graph will look very different if you use “assists” instead, for example.

Sorry but it’s obvious that Odegaard hasn’t been impacting games the way he used to. He’s still very good at moving the ball upfield but what he does in the final third has been disappointing. His crosses into the box lack pace and are easily defended.

That first goal against Wolves was like a missile, both in velocity and trajectory. Would have gone in had the goalie not gotten his hand on the ball.

University administrators, including those at MUSC, tend to agree to water down the assessment to avoid lawsuits and negative publicity. That is why we have many charlatans among senior faculty. That’s how we have ended up with the people running NIH and FDA now.

The problem you highlighted in PubPeer with Fig 3B and 6C is even more egregious. They use the same CAV1 image but different P-CAV1. It’s not a mistake. It’s data manipulation!
