Oh look. A ball over the top to a striker who is known to feast on those. And he scores. Quelle surprise.

I’m not to blame but I am responsible. I wrote this during the protests & riots after the murder of George Floyd. What I knew then is what I know now: that we all matter or none of us do.
Please read this.
And act accordingly.
Courage. Use it.

The failed strategy I participated in for years as a CIA officer is not how to police people I consider my neighbors. It's not how to police at all.

Basically he always knows who's watching him and is moving away from that defender into the blind spot of another.

This gives him a >1 step advantage when the ball is played to him, more than enough space for a striker of his quality to finish a chance.
Things Haaland does very well off the ball

1. Doesn't engage CBs to appear non-threatening

2. Constantly moving away from the CB who can see him

3. Lives off the shoulder of the 2nd CB, giving 1st CB the impression he's being guarded

4. Is always aware of who's watching him and where they are

This seems to strongly suggest that the incoming president of UVA doctored his CV to the edge of outright dishonesty, and that the most recent changes came months before Jim Ryan was forced, as if they were made in anticipation in Ryan’s removal. augustafreepress.com/news/vanishi...

The NewsHour is TV journalism at its best. Everyone who’s not familiar with the broadcast should check it out and see how much better it is than what the networks have to offer.
The financial instability of The NewsHour is a civic crisis. PBS’s flagship nightly news broadcast can’t fund a weekend broadcast or keep its last bureau — Phoenix — open.

@royalsociety.org is defending misogyny and fascism the right way - by Ezra Klein
This is just embarrassing. If the Royal Society is not going to make a stand on CSAM, what would it ever take a stand on?
So image manipulation in science papers is now OK, I take it.

Arsenal are getting into positions for a cutback more than in almost any season under Mikel Arteta. And they are not scoring goals from those spots.

A key factor in that has to be that their striker is not getting on the end of those deliveries.

I have the “In Covid’s Wake” PDF and this section floored me. Here is some of the surrounding content — and citations. The professors cited laundered Twitter Files claims in their discussion of the Murthy v Missouri case — they stuck the *outcome of the case* in a footnote while centering the lies.

Huh? When did I say that?!

This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...
