I'm a man of many interests, but mostly I'm here for the birds. All photos (except reposts) were taken by me. Most of my birding (so far) has been done in Wisconsin.

I think the "prophet" was misheard. He actually promised us raptors. 🦅🦉

Still no rapture? I was promised the rapture!

HERO 🥰

(even if "go birds" was a Philadelphia Eagles reference rather than a shout-out for birds in general)

I saw White-faced Ibises for the first time this year (a few errant ones ended up in Wisconsin for awhile in spring) and wow were they cool to see

Stephen Miller's forehead vein definitely wouldn't like the Song Sparrow cheerfully singing. It hates joy!

I saw a bunch of molting starlings yesterday. I've seen many starlings over the years, of course, but this is the first time I remember seeing them in full molting mode.

As my day unfolds with great gusto, here is a Starling against a #BlueSky for #BirdoftheDay by @alan678.bsky.social . They are so colourful and iridescent in their beauty. Have a good day. 😊

Even a shoebill has moments that look like laughter.

I decorated a canvas pouch yesterday by drawing four Sanderlings walking along a shore (as shorebirds do). They were fun to draw! #birds #art #birdart

I went to an art class where we were asked to paint something inspired by Picasso.

I painted this, which I dubbed "a Picasso bird."

An adorable baby great grey owl to help you get through your week.

We planted a serviceberry in our backyard a few years ago and this is the first summer it produced berries. The birds gobbled them up quickly.

Congrats on seeing the Whooping Crane! The Black Terns are fun to watch. Looks like you got some great shots there!

A good, PUNK ROCK kid, one might say.

My favorite bird! Congrats on seeing your first one 🎉

It's very good. (I am a fan of superhero movies.) It's the best big-screen Superman film since the early Christopher Reeve ones. James Gunn clearly understands the character and why he appeals to fans, which I appreciate. (I didn't like Zack Snyder's grimmer Man of Steel take.)

Saw Superman last night and reserved tickets to see it again tomorrow. And I'm not a fan of superhero movies. That's my review.

It's a White Wagtail! I was very fortunate to see one here in the Midwest, in northern Wisconsin last winter.

Writer Julia Zarankin used to be a “normal person.” Now, she finds herself cancelling all non-bird-related social engagements, descending deeper into what experts call birder derangement syndrome. Here, she explores why she’s at her best when birding: thewalrus.ca/birding/

Black-necked Stilts are one of my favorite birds. I look forward to seeing them every June/July because I'm fortunate enough to see them with their newly hatched fuzzballs at their nesting grounds less than an hour from here.

A piece of #birdart I made with markers today. It started as a Bald Eagle, but it looked a bit chunky, so I pivoted and turned it into a Steller's Sea Eagle instead. 🪶
