Depending on how much it rains there and how waterlogged that terrain gets raking might be a pain (my plot becomes a mudpit by February) so as long as you’re clearing the worst weeds and covering the rest will be breaking down and you won’t lose progress as things will be growing much slower anyway!

Nice space! :D I’d say pick a half to focus on and keep the rest strimmed for now. Plan where the first bed is to go, pull big weeds leaving no roots (I use a manual weeder, podcasts and patience), dig the bed area, cover then start over on a next patch while the dug bit breaks down before raking

Hi Helen <3 oh mostly chinese cabbages and red cabbages now! Some last tomatoes ripening and our pumpkins are teeeeeny tiny too so I feel you :’) soil is kinda depleted so starting to prep for next year
