YES volume 4 is so so so important for bingqiu! they’re both fresh from trauma and long periods of survival and deep depression, but they’re trying SO hard to navigate their new relationship together as equals... god yeah can you imagine alive soldier HC with XL post Xian Le’s fall? total shitshow

thank you 🫶 i would say all of the three end up in healthy relationships well suited to their unique circumstances, but bingqiu is especially satisfying to me because we see them climb out and build up trust from an absolute low that the other two don’t really reach… it just hits so hard!!

in vol 4, lbh doesnt isolate sqq since they still live in the bamboo house most of the time; sqq just prefers the company of his lover bc he's ALSO clingy. lbh never threatens, insults, or uses force on sqq. lbh never tries to control him and always gives sqq the final say. he is nottt abusive.

this entire extra was pure fluff. literally one page before this, sqq was teasing lbh by refusing to let him hold hands.

they are blatantly flirting, its what sqq DOES. he's thin faced, embarrassed by his own desire, and loves playing hard to get. he WANTS to be pestered, & lbh loves teasing. how could you possibly think lbh pouting about being exiled from the bathtub is abusive? he stops pouting "in a snap" anyway.

the one time in the extras that you could argue binghe is being pushy is the honeymoon extra, where lbh is valiantly fighting for his dream of tying sqq up in immortal-binding cables. sqq promised him one request and lbh jumps for it, but sqq goes back on his word. its so unserious.

of course, the next chapter is the one where they decide to have each other by their sides for a lifetime officially. binghe is so nervous during the proposal that hes shaking like a small wet dog and immediately falls over himself reassuring sqq that he doesn't have to answer. so abusive. much wow.

to drive it in some more, we also get this scene in the 100 Questions extra. again, we have binghe explicitly saying he doesnt want to make sqq unhappy by compelling him to stay by his side and sqq assuring him that's silly. since, yknow, sqq loves him.

literally every other outside POV we get of bingqiu is them being sickeningly sweet. bing-ge notes sqq's 120% warm indulgence and the way they jump at each other "cloyingly". sqh is jealous of sqq's "godly days" and "cheerful, romantic cottagecore roleplay." they flirt in front of succubi. come on..

SQQ doesnt love LBH for what he can do, he loves LBH because of him. diligent, thoughtful, sweet, decisive, protective, driven, and earnest, giving his fragile glass heart to SQQ over and over despite the pain and fear of rejection.
