Fact is, they don’t. Follow your instincts. Alternative dialogue tags exist for a reason; use them. Like adverbs, they exist to be used, not shoved aside and dismissed.

Even if no one else is laughing at ‘em, I will always cackle at my own jokes. So imagine how serious I am about my books. My stories. My words.

It’s happening.

I’m becoming annoying.

No one’s really responding to my posts, which means it’s either time to start an OnlyFans or a controversy, and I think I speak for all of us when I say that the latter is the way to go. But what controversy? Who to offend? I could go after photographers. Maybe pilots? But I think the real answer is

Am I going to post about my Substack today? Who knows? Right now, I’m focused on P.A.M.S. What’s that? Don’t know what P.A.M.S. is? Well, for one it’s incurable. Chronic. But I bear this burden for you all. I am deeply benevolent in this way.

As someone who wasn’t a huge fan of the first season, let me just say: season two of #PercyJackson is incredible! Everyone behind it is doing superb work. Really glad to finally be getting a good adaptation.

While it’s still #yaphour, let me say: #TheLifeofaShowgirl is one hell of an album. Taylor Swift outdid herself. Hats off. ‘Ruin the Friendship’ was an immediate favourite, but honestly, all 12 tracks are bangers.

More seriously, what impresses me about Sanderson’s writing is his ability to interweave the surreal and fantastic with the mundane. As much as the series is about magic and swords and the most perfect spren in existence, it’s also about /people/. The struggles are familiar, the relationships like
