I don't play commander but this card was an absolute all star in mono green stompy builds in Modern in 2016 or so and I will always love it.

Life is not that much different from farming the same skeleton in the first stage of Saga Frontier 2 so you can all your abilities at the start of the game when you think about it.

For what it's worth WotC staff have been putting out messages clearing up that that's not currently in the pipeline for MTG. I am still worried long term but I think WotC recognizes that there will be a huge loss of talent both internally and externally if mtg does UB: Terf Wizards
