I think you need to look into the history of how USAID was used. There even books written about it!
November 23, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Not letting the state department run it? Or do the aid through grants to non profits. Have ethical people running it?
November 23, 2025 at 5:24 PM
I agree we should help other countries without it being a front for the CIA.
November 23, 2025 at 5:17 PM
USAID was a front for CIA opps. They can do the same good aid through a different organization. Trump won't do that but it can be built with the next administration.

I hate our financial late stage capitalism but saying there is no risk to ownership is silly. Say I start a business with my life savings, 500k for this experiment. If the business goes under, I lose 500k, the laborer can just get another job.

You're arguing for a commune and that works. But then you get into the other class warfare that is leadership class vs the contributor class. No large scale project can work without it. Can't have too many cooks in the kitchen. Our job is to keep the cook in check.

Ownership has risks so they are entitled to something. Even if you go full communist the single party state has ownership over the system and has goals that arent always aligning with the entirety of the labor class.
October 30, 2025 at 8:43 AM
I disagree. The worker revolts of the late 19th and early 20th century got more fair deals. The new deal with FDR made great gains. It is possible. There will always be ownership class no matter the economic model. The labor class just needs to stand with each other.

You shouldn't need pat on the back for cleaning youre own fucking toilet. Goodness...
October 30, 2025 at 5:53 AM
Don't have a 401k. Drank out of a hose in town smaller than you've probably ever been too with power outages every winter. But I can tell youre young, because you are doing the "who has it harder" olympics rather than just comment on what I actually said.
October 30, 2025 at 5:52 AM
Yeah it is fun thats why I said we need a fair social contract.
October 30, 2025 at 5:48 AM
Yeah I dont know how that has to do with anything(im anti-capitalist) Im just not an "end of work" type person. There are always going to be jobs in society that nobody will get joy in that are necessary. A real goal is getting a good social contract for labor!
October 30, 2025 at 5:42 AM
I just dont think that idealized world has ever existed or even can. Even before capitalism. Im sure ancient humans weren't always excited to go on the mile long hunt, tanning hides, foraging food. Work is essential to society but their has to be a fair contract with the state or capital.

I think most of those decisions from the front office now days. And I know of one guy that has been there the whole time.

He should sell the clippers and but the Mariners in a no salary cap league and make my life 20% better

The centrists have been making a hard push this year to being the "normals" when in reality they are just Bush jr clones

I knew an old lady who did casting, mainly for commercials and crappy movies, and she said they sprayed stuff on the burgers and other foods to "make them shine."

Eh, principles are objective, right and wrong is generally subjective.
