This had me chuckling yesterday. The smart people love him. Ostensibly, his people, the ones he loves that are giving him heat, are the dumb ones.

In Trump's telling, his standing has taken a hit from conservative allies who disagree with his view that some skilled foreign workers will be needed to help develop critical industries domestically. "I always take a little heat from my people, the people that love me and the people that I love," Trump said. "They happen to be toward the right of center, toward the right. Sometimes they're way right."

It was a farce to prosecute this guy. Besides, the Trump admin has already proven that it’s ok to attack and do bodily harm to officers with whom you disagree. In fact, it’s pardonable. We gotta stop this BS (both sidesism). This was nothing but malicious authoritarianism.
I agree with Pirro's basic point that throwing any object at a federal agent creates social harm by making it more difficult for them to do their jobs, and that deterrence is necessary to prevent others from following suit. I also feel sympathy for the agents who, despite some incidents of apparent overreach, are mostly out there just doing their jobs as assigned. Some, no doubt, resent being used as pawns in Trump's political theater. But criminal charges are not the only remedy available here. In fact, Dunn lost his job as a paralegal at the Department of Justice over the incident.
