that being said, even before AI, people stealing others works and calling it their own has been a problem for as long as the internet has existed. AI unfortunately has just made it more camouflaged by not directly being the artwork, but still using the data the artwork provides

That being said, GenAI stuff still tends to get copyrighted when the person creating the generations don't come out and say it is AI. it is usually the ones who say it loud and proud that get smacked by it.

it doesn't matter if it isn't the exact art, it is the fact that it is trained on those things, which means it is using it to make those generations. since the data scraping is so broad usually, it automatically locks it out of having the ability to copyright.

you want to know the reason why it is excluded from copyright? It scrapes the internet for data, unless it is a certain dataset, one can only assume that it is scraping everything.. INCLUDING other copyrighted works.

the TTRPG that the cyberpunk 2077 had this as part of the themes since the start and it was also a gameplay mechanic that existed within it to allow you to get more powerful, with the trade off that you can lose control of your character if you do it too much.

People who were left and right leaning were both clowning on this list because it would try to tear down games for 'including certain themes' . For an example, they tried to tear cyberpunk 2077 apart of transhumanism, even though that has been part of the theme for very long time.

Some people splintered off and made their own groups to continue it, but they either didn't get any traction or just gave up because it would've been too much effort to keep the list of games updated.

also I did some looking into the group ,supposedly it was organized by undesirable people on an RPG talk forum that is known for racism, sexism and more. original creator of the group is MIA as of current, which means no one can actually do anything with it since only the admins can post.

I'm not even angry or anything, these are legitimately funny to me because the threshold for getting on this list is so low, that all you have to do is have a female player character and it is 'woke'
