He told 33,000+ lies in his first term.

Since math is not my strongest subject, can someone more capable please figure how many lies-per-day that averages?

🙏 Thanking you in advance, Mar🐫

I'm old enough to remember when polio ripped through the globe and put my friends into iron lungs.

We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.

RFK Jr leading HHS is a disgrace.
RFK Jr.: It Would Be Better if ‘Everybody Got Measles’
“The measles gave you lifetime protection against measles infection,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Sean Hannity on Fox News.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much

The fentanyl/border narrative so frustrating, not just because of the fascist border policies, but also because it supports the continuation of the drug war and totally ignores the proven value of harm reduction policies. Sadly a massive propaganda win for the drug warriors cuz ppl are eating it up

Trump’s vengeance machine is even more dangerous than it was before. He's effectively the mob boss who keeps his hands clean while others do his dirty work.

Also allowing revegetation of coastal habitat and community access to the coast rather than private ownership would be such a precious opportunity - for climate mitigation and liveability in LA ❤️
"Managed retreat" is aimed at helping people move away from unlivable parts of the world. It's already difficult to pull off in the face of rising sea levels, but even harder to succeed in the face of growing fire-prone regions.

After the Fire, Should Some Parts of Los Angeles Never Rebuild?
The idea of “managed retreat” has been applied to areas affected by rising sea levels and severe flooding, but fire-prone regions might not be the best candidates for abandonment.

We don’t care how many times we have to say it.

Elon Musk can completely rebuild Los Angeles and still be the richest person in the world. If he doesn’t want to do that, we should make him.

Elon Musk donated some cyber trucks and WiFi to LA for the fire recovery. If you think that’s in any way good or helpful, you should know that Elon Musk could afford to rebuild Los Angeles by himself and still be the richest man alive.

This is why RFK Jr. can not become HHS Secretary.

Discouraging vaccines will allow polio to creep back.

"Vaccination has scrubbed the virus from most of the planet, slashing the number of cases by more than 99.9 percent and preventing an estimated 20 million cases of paralysis."

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
