When I was in 7th grade, I had to write a report on my grandfather, and I realized that in all my 13 years of life, I'd never had a conversation with him beyond pleasantries.
I didnt know how to talk to him, my father never learned how to talk to him, and in the end, I lied about him for my essay.

I think it's very telling of the life you live when your children are "unmoved" by your passing, to go to a wake and have no one speak of the past with you, but would rather mingle and catch up with each other instead.
