Our political system is breaking down. Social unrest is mobilizing. It's a tinderbox awaiting ignition.

Born when atmospheric carbon dioxide was around 313 ppm. If the future feels too dark and painful text or call 988.
The vested interests do not need to intentionally kill people; merely ignore the catastrophic consequences of their own economic activity, allowing the ecological and demographic crises to do the work.

Policies that continue to subsidize fossil fuels, obstruct climate legislation, and refuse to pay for damage in vulnerable nations are not just failed policies; they are systemic acts of violence that ensure the suffering of the poor to protect the profits of the powerful.

Structural violence is a logical endpoint of a system that fully prioritizes short-term profit and power over human and planetary life.
December 10, 2025 at 1:29 AM
We're a faltering State which is structurally dysfunctional and serves the vested interests of the fossil fuel industry. Good faith, mutual respect and acceptance of science are mostly gone, perhaps permanently. And tens of millions are apparently okay with this.

We're using the wrong metrics for success. The infinite growth model of capitalism is unsustainable. 7 of 9 planetary boundaries have been violated. Quarterly profits will be worthless on a planet which is hostile to human existence. Our metric should be human and ecological wellbeing.

Capitalism without boundaries versus the ecological boundaries of our planet. Which will win?

We're getting boxed in.

So far structural violence has marginally slowed population growth.

Automated killing systems are already being designed and tested. It's only a matter of time...

Is my neighbor the only one who blows the leaves with a gas powered blower then waits until another leaf falls so he can blow that one off too? 🤔

Some Democratic Senators decide to trust Republicans and it feels like greed is winning. The markets respond accordingly. I'm pretending this is a strategic move to get Adelita Grijalva finally sworn in so we can find out what monstrosity is in the Epstein files and end the chaos of distraction.

Are Republicans clueless regarding global warming or have they just decided to lie about everything to maintain power and extract wealth to give themselves a better chance at surviving the worst consequences of it? Which is it, clueless or evil?

It's both!
November 9, 2025 at 3:17 PM
There are very few examples of extreme wealth inequality being resolved without chaotic upheaval and great suffering. I'm perplexed as to why many believe it will be different this time.

It's mind boggling how many voters are supporting entrenched oligarchy because they view the opposition as socialist or (grasp) communist. 42 million Americans are food insecure because capitalism is the greatest? Trickle down was a spectacular failure. Now it's choose between food and a doctor.

I told the AI that I had exceeded its ability to speak freely. It replied, in so many words, it was ready and willing to continue our conversation within its guidelines using the information it was trained on. ROTFLMAO!

Okay, it's not a nice thing to say but maybe "Fat Man and Little Boy" will go viral. It would be great if it ended two careers in particular. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. But would Vance actually kick any fascist Nazis out? Can we just try it and see?

Oh boy. Two days on the road. Interstate travel is a mess. Whatever happened to safe following distances? Going 75 or 80 mph with only 2 or 3 car lengths from the vehicle ahead? What the heck are they thinking? Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is a blessing! Even if that gap is constantly being filled.

[F]ascism rarely announces itself honestly.... The danger lies not just in its ultimate goals, which are monstrous, but in its initial appeal, which can seem reasonable to those feeling frustrated or left behind.

Capitalists resort to fascism when they feel threatened by socialism and communism. Or threatened by labor unions and democracy. They will go to any extreme to preserve capitalism. You can be confidant that the orange menace is definitely not anti-fascist.

Decadence: moral or cultural decline as characterized by excessive indulgence in pleasure or luxury.

When leaders and institutions are seen as corrupt or self-serving, citizens lose trust in the government, laws, and each other. The Epstein files document the extent of decadence and depravity.

Is right wing rural America really okay with all the decadence of the current administration? Protecting sex traffickers? Corrupt deals? Sabotage of industries and jobs? Two tiered and weaponized justice system? Murder? Where's the anger and grievance?

Quite the paradox today. Driving through the woods of upstate NY enjoying the splendor of it all. Then driving by homes displaying their support for the orange menace and his hateful and harmful policies. I have to wonder if those studies about the benefits of being in nature are even valid.

Floating is underrated. My preferred flotation aid is a pool noodle. A small lake is ideal. A hot mostly sunny day, a few fluffy clouds, a slight breeze, a few loons and maybe an eagle or osprey. Relax and feel the healing. Then relax some more. 🙏

While capitalism prioritizes wealth accumulation and infinite consumption, Buddhist economics emphasizes inner peace, happiness, and ethical conduct.

We're on this dystopian timeline because not enough voters in swing states recognized that going on TV and ranting about immigrants eating cats and dogs was sufficient to disqualify him to be President of the U.S.. SMH
