You are prior to the idea 'I am'. Camp yourself there, prior to the words 'I am'.

Immorality often arises from unexamined and deeply flawed assumptions that are held up as "conventional knowledge" (or, worse, as "wisdom"):
So close, you cannot see it
So simple, you cannot believe it
So easy, you cannot trust it
So profound, you cannot fathom it
So good, you cannot accept it

[E]mptiness practices seek not to obliterate the world of phenomena, nor to erase the self, but rather to understand the deepest nature of all phenomena and all selves―their voidness―in a way that frees us and frees up compassion.

Where the hell is the "Board of Peace?”

Over 500 Palestinians have been killed since the “ceasefire.” This comes days after the IDF itself admitted the Palestinian death toll is over 70,000.

The use of American taxpayer-funded weapons makes us complicit.

Stop the slaughter.

[A]llow your mind to be as it naturally is, and let thoughts dissolve in themselves. This is your innate mind, which is an unidentifiable, self-knowing, natural awareness.

[I]n the network of linguistic interactions in which we move, we maintain an ongoing descriptive recursion which we call the "I." It enables us to conserve our linguistic operational coherence and our adaptation in the domain of language.

Before you conceptualize anything, you are, even before the knowingness, you are. You have only to apperceive this knowingness, this love to be, the Self. . . . [T]he Self wants to know itself.

Without letting it dwindle away from indifference,
retain the words through learning,
discern their meaning through reflection,
practice one-pointedly through meditation training,
and accomplish the welfare of self and others.

To all the white liberals who are shocked right now:

Yes, I hear you.

I was shocked too when Trump was elected in 2016.

Then, I got over the shock, and woke up more fully to the reality of the American Empire. It's time you did too.

Reality is in the process of awakening all of itself to itself. And that part of the picture is going to be hard to see if we fixate on the absolute view—if we use the absolute view to hide from our humanness.

Republicans serve the openly antidemocratic rich and express the rabid need to bring people to submission through gleeful brutality.

Democrats serve the rich who want to maintain a semblance of decorum and civility while their pursuit of more wealth and power necessitates creeping fascism.

Ask why they opposed abolishing ICE under Biden yet are suddenly for it now -- when ICE has been abusive for decades and Biden increased the ICE budget enormously.

Ask whether there was a dark money payoff to harass the "Abolish ICE" movement and to insert Dem talking points on ICE into media...

[A]ll sentient beings...want nothing but happiness. Unfortunately, through their negative actions they only create the causes for further pain and suffering. Take this to heart and consider all [to be your] parents, wandering blindly and endlessly through painful samsaric states.

The joy of the spirit ever abides,
But not what seems pleasant to the senses.
Both these, differing in their purpose, prompt
Us to action. All is well for those who choose
The joy of the spirit, but
[Those who prefer the pleasant]
Miss the goal of life.

Today's political parties won't save the day.
1. This short thread is about the issue that dominates almost every aspect of politics, and causes or exacerbates most of our problems: the extreme wealth of a small number of people. Here’s the amazing thing: almost the entire political class aligns with the ultra-rich against the rest. 🧵1/10
