I have been on the internet almost the whole time and almost my whole time. I was an under-supervised child with dial up internet before the dot-com boom. I was going to a technical high school learning the trade of “Internet Technology” the same year Zuck was miles away launching Facebook.

It’s a bummer that “anti-masker” refers to what it refers to, because it’d be a great term for autistic people who chooses to just be themselves for a change.

We’re not running out of good ideas, but the tech fetishists who have no ideas other than “but I put a lot of money and emotion into this basket” always do, and their narcissism does not allow them to consider that their failed ideas suck, and the flop sweat is palpable.

“Don’t even worry about it. If you could do something, you would have at this point. I don’t want to take any more of your time. It is so not your fault that my rage would be misplaced on you.”

That’s a good line. Credit where credit is due. And off the dome. Good talking, Nick.

There’s no true, “you should have saved x amount of money at this point in your life.” Some of us are great savers. We just haven’t been given much extra money to save.

AI is the solution to any problem you can think of. And if you can’t think of any problems, ask the AI, and it’ll give you more problems. At least the snake oil salesmen of yore actually gave you a tangible product that didn’t work instead of just poisoning the town’s water supply and leaving.

Computer animation is a fun novelty and can be effective tool when used in addition to traditional, but when they decided there for a couple of decades that all animation had to be computer animation, that’s feels like if they had decided that all sculpture had to be cake sculpture.

So much of media analysis is, at its core, academic fan fiction, molding the text into the story you want to tell. The packages are different, but the inception is the same. You experience art and it makes you think, and you then explore and share those thoughts in a format that makes sense to you.

It’s funny that the song “Let's Hear It for the Boy” is a woman singing about how her mediocre boyfriend deserves a round of applause and it was written by two men. And it’s catchy as hell. The perfect crime.
