We’re the trade union and professional body for UK doctors and medical students.
The mental health of young people is worsening, placing increasing demand on both the NHS and schools.

#TheDrMagazine reports on how support services can't meet this rocketing demand.

The Government's Road Safety Strategy, announced today, is a welcome step towards improving public health. Any amount of alcohol impairs judgement and reaction times, and even modest reductions in blood alcohol limits have been shown to significantly reduce harm.

Resident doctors, we need your 'YES' vote to keep the pressure on the Government in 2026 to get you more jobs and better pay.

Tens of thousands of doctors are facing unemployment and real pay is down 21% since 2008.

Get your ballot back in the post by 26 January to make sure your voice is heard.

For the past five days, tens of thousands of resident doctors in England took strike action over jobs and pay, yet it didn’t need to happen.

Our members showed their collective strength and are demanding a credible new offer from the Government.

Patients need doctors. Doctors need jobs.

We're on strike because there were no new jobs in the government’s offer last week, they simply repurposed jobs that already existed for the sake of ‘new’ jobs on paper.

We need the Government to create more training places for resident doctors.

🚨Calling all resident doctors in England🚨

Across the country resident doctors were out on the picket lines showing their collective strength.

These strikes didn’t have to happen, Wes Streeting
could have listened to doctors and come forward with workable, sustainable solutions for both jobs and pay.

"The GMC received more applications last year to leave our NHS than in the last decade" Dr Callum Parr tells Sky News.

Some resident doctors are facing unemployment and others are leaving the country entirely. Short-term thinking won’t cut it.

Our Emma Runswick on BBC Breakfast this morning about today’s resident doctors’ strike over jobs and pay.

Thousands of resident doctors face unemployment, with many more leaving the UK altogether.

Today 10,000s of doctors will go out on strike, as they're willing to stand up for their profession against a totally avoidable jobs and pay crisis.

Resident doctors need jobs, and when they find those jobs, they need to be paid fairly for it.

Tomorrow’s strike is still entirely avoidable, Wes Streeting should work with us to come up with a credible offer to end this jobs crisis and avert the real terms pay cuts he is pushing in 2026.

We're willing to work to find a solution if he is

Strikes will GO AHEAD from 17-22 December, after resident doctors in England voted overwhelmingly to reject the latest offer from Wes Streeting.

“Simply put, we don’t have the resources to look after the people of this country. I think the people of this country who pay a lot in taxes to have an NHS that works for them are suffering.” RDC deputy chair Arjan Singh

“Mr Streeting holds all the cards to both postponing the strike and ending the dispute once and for all, but he seems more interested in political grandstanding and exploiting public fears.”
