Look at the northern lights @jtsveigdalen.bsky.social and I saw last night. Disclaimer: this picture was taken with a 5 second exposure time. To the bare eye, only the green flowing waves were visible, but the long exposure time caught some other interesting colors too. 😀

Last week, I drove the 535i up to its winter storage location, and on the way up there, I took the back roads. And along these roads I know that there are some good scenery. And that day, with the skies and the background, I took what I believe to be the best picture I've ever taken of the 535i.

I remember some years ago when I saw a little insect on my wall. I thought it had a weird shape, so I took a picture and magnified it. And it had arms with pincers, just like a tiny scorpion. 🦂 But it didn't have the tail. Turns out this is a pseudo scorpion. Never seen one since. #pseudoscorpions

Time for a new post! The season is on, so I have more stuff to post. 😀 Last weekend, @jtsveigdalen.bsky.social and I went to Denmark for the annual KOED Open House event. Lots of fun was had. We got to see some nice danish BMWs and in the evening there was a party with free beer in the workshop. 🥳

Look at what my wife made us for dinner! 😀 I stated that this was a 9 out of 10, but upon question what could have it better, I had no good answer. 😄 Which kinda made it a 10. @jtsveigdalen.bsky.social makes some great stuff in her kitchen. 🥰

Not cars this time, but home remodeling projects. I'm putting laminate flooring in my office, in style with the rest of the upstairs in our house. I cut the first row, so that I could use spare bits from last project for the last row.

Rear and front view cameras was a rare and expensive retrofit on the BMW E39. By using some OEM parts, and some aftermarket parts, like a Siemens LOGO! PLC, I've made my own rear and front camera system. Unfortunately there was never any buttons for the E39/38 models with a camera symbol on them. 1/

What's this.. Two of our Chromecasts stopped working. After it happened the second time, I knew it was a bigger issue, and turns out that it was. Shame on Google. Luckily I've found a workaround for Android, let me know if you want the details.

I put in laundry today, and the laundry machine said "Software Update" I clicked Ok, and the machine blacked out and a progress bar appeared. After a while it was done and turned back on. So I'll check the clothes carefully, and I'll be disappointed if they're not cleaner now than they used to be. 😄

Here is another shot from my trip to #Nürburgring back in 2018, and this picture clearly shows @jtsveigdalen.bsky.social actually being in the car. I'm hoping for another visit, maybe in 2026.

I read a lot about North Sea disasters, and on a couple of pictures I've recognized a ship, Seaway Falcon. This was a so called DSV (Diving Support Vessel) built in 1975, owned by Stolt-Nielsen Seways. The first picture I've found is from by Norsk Oljemuseum, which shows Seaway Falcon at the 1/

I've just watched a documentary about the sinking of the cruise ship Oceanos in 1991. The crew left the ship, and eventually it was the ship's magician and guitarist that sent a Mayday and got the last 200+ pssengers rescued. If you didn't know this story was true, you wouldn't believe it. 🤔😄

I've just watched a documentary about the sinking of the cruise ship Oceanos in 1991. The crew left the ship, and eventually it was the ship's magician and guitarist that sent a Mayday and got the last 200+ pssengers rescued. If you didn't know this story was true, you wouldn't believe it. 🤔😄

So I was sure the hedgehog (HVAC blower fan FSU) on my daily driver E39 520i was bad. But it turned out that it was the fan that was bad, apparently stuck. Both FSUs I tried just got very hot immediately, and the fan didn't move. 😥 So it seems like I have a dash-out job in front of me this winter.

So I was sure the hedgehog (HVAC blower fan FSU) on my daily driver E39 520i was bad. But it turned out that it was the fan that was bad, apparently stuck. Both FSUs I tried just got very hot immediately, and the fan didn't move. 😥 So it seems like I have a dash-out job in front of me this winter.
So I've been annoyed by how hot it is and an apparent lack of airflow and air exchange in the apartment that I rent. I thought it was a summer issue, but it's still that way despite becoming colder outside. So I opened up the ventilation box, and kinda figured out why this was. 😅 I think this /1
