Art and writing is a form of protest. It is a form of empowerment. It is part of being human.

That is why you write when the world is on fire.

But the bigger reason that you should write and make art, is that your work is someone else's respite.

You don't know who they are. They may be someone in the future. But if you have escaped into a book, or a painting, or a TV show... Someone created that.

You can do that for someone else.

I need to actually fix it first, but a write-up of getting HTTPS and name resolution working properly on my home network would be pretty helpful... and perhaps helpful for someone else as well.

(My Traefik setup is not ideal and I really need to set up something with wildcard certs)

I'm writing about how I plan to design some bookshelves.

No I haven't designed them yet.

Yes, this project will likely take a year of on and off planning.

Is it likely to finish? Maybe not. But its time spent doing something interesting.

Meanwhile I'm looking at getting a new e-reader because I want to get out from under Amazon's ecosystem but I don't actually need a new device and its easy enough to not engage with the Amazon side of things...

Note:

People should still be wary of any sort of black-box decision making tool, whatever the technology behind it. That point stands no matter what.

Some tools are better than others though.

I can't explain how many times I've seen a presentation or email mention Ai and it just makes me want to delete it or tune it out.

If this crash/backlash ever materializes then its going to take these products with it. Some of them may even be good things that should be used.

It reads like one of those LinkedIn posts by people who you would never want to work with or for.
