Yeah, those are uses I would love to be able to leverage but in my attempts have proven shoddy too. The best "writer" LLM I have seen was O1. They all have...different vibes. you can also see on the LLM subreddits users complaining about the "voice" changing when using it for short fiction.

Yeah, I wasn't really implying that moreso just thinking about my own experiences recently. I have tried really hard to get like, some "helpful flow" for writing up PRs using the LLM, and like, while it can explain itself, it can't represent the bigger pieces of thought that need to be with bigger

If you get to a point you have to question what's original writing and what isn't, then you are generally gonna read less and question more, and we are all consuming less "good" media and forming less new true original thought I guess is my assertion

The reason they suck is cuz they aren't original, they are token predictors. It is wonderful for coding. Sucks for writing. But its the same kinda thing where if you noticed something is LLM written your eyes roll back or you hit the back button, cuz you know its short-changing yourself to read it

I think that using LLMs to write undermines the social contract that holds us together intellectually as a society. Lol it sounds kind of extreme but hear me out:

In reading, it simply is assumed the writer _put it in effort_ and has really thought about something. The LLM takes that away.
