@mrjamesob.bsky.social 3/3 one of the reasons I got interested in running an apprenticeship is a comment from a young person, that "everyone goes to University now" .This was about 15 years ago. That has never been correct! Is expectation management is part of the answer?

2/3 I agreed with one of your callers about the selection process. I worked for a large organisation in London that has around 300 apprenticeships per year. I along with a colleague ran one for 10 yrs. Very rewarding but the selection process had less & less humans involved

@mrjamesob.bsky.social 1/3 listening on catch up to your programme on NEEPS. My one concern with the government strategy is the quality of the jobs/ training on offer. If the consultants are employed to deliver then their will be problems as most of the money will go in their fees.

As a occasional cyclist I bought myself a louder bell than the original one provided. They make a nice little tune if I ring them together, anyway why are my fellow cyclists so afraid to 'ding' me especially when they're riding up behind me on a footway?

We're still having #milkdelivered by a dairy twice a week in glass bottles as opposed to online shopping. Though we pay a hefty premium for using glass, which has always seemed bizarre to me.
