Caspar Milquetoast is *very* disappointed!

You do realize she will eat your face if you die in bed and she misses a couple of meals. Just sayin.

I didn't think you were encouraging it! I was just reminding folks of our bit of history trying before and not to underestimate how difficult it would be for us even now.

Uh. We've tried that before and things didn't work out for us. Do not underestimate the Canadian armed forces. They are small but ruthless.

This makes me even more angry at Merrick Garland. He waited too long to do anything. Dereliction of duty.

Do better. /s

Side note. My wife's uncle was Adam Yarmolinsky who worked for McNamara and questioned very early our involvement in Vietnam. Looks like they all knew pretty early they had screwed up.

I miss Blackadder.

Even in the same profession you can get the separation. Some EE (Electrical Engineer) perfectly happy sitting in a cube all day cranking out low noise amplifiers for antenna systems is definitely a hedgehog. An EE building global optical telecom networks is probably more like a fox.

This reminds me of how the British viewed different university degrees when I was there in the 1980s and mid 1990s. Electrical engineering, computer science, and IT were viewed as VoTech training with some extra rigor while a *true* university education was mostly in the liberal arts.

It's exhausting. Trying to get Dems to understand strategic electioneering is like herding cats. I've been watching this shit for decades.

Tinker in OKC?

It had already been in service 31 years when I went to basic training in April '86.

The first step is to shore up the existing ACA and make it work the way it was originally intended, following the Swiss model. Then start wringing inefficiencies out of the health insurance industry to drive down costs while incrementally increasing subsidies. Maybe a billing clearinghouse like ACH.

For once is this our savior?

My view as a defense contractor: Navy leadership and various defense contractors will take advantage of the Byzantine defense acquisition system to slow roll this stupid idea until it's too late for Trump to salvage it or he's dead.

During the 70s and early 80s, middle class families had little disposable income. Getting a credit card was almost impossible and the limits were low. We never went on vacation after 7th grade. And before that it was to visit relatives. One TV was a major purchase. Lots of stuff was secondhand.

Drop Elon into Honduras with nothing but $5 and he'll be hanging from a tree within a week.

Dems thought Trump was toast after January 6th and moved on. Trump started campaigning again on January 7th, knowing that a constant drumbeat of BS would help rehabilitate his image with low-info voters.

You don't shop for the cheapest ER to set your broken bones? /s
December 11, 2025 at 1:01 AM
They've been trying this line for decades. It might work with the young and healthy who don't "shop" for medical services they don't need in the first place. Anyone over 50 knows it's total BS.
December 11, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Why wait for the election year? It drives me crazy the way Dem leadership let a full year of ads writing themselves go by. Trump started his re-election campaign before he even left the White House the first time.

National Guard major was never in the E-4 mafia. The servers will crash once every enlisted puke starts trying to trick AI into making porn and smut docs.
December 9, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Love how the Army National Guard major is telling all the active duty folks how they've been doing everything wrong. Inferiority complex anyone?
