I love this Ricky body shape and the 12str configuration.
Not sure about the big pickguard on this model; aesthetically I prefer this model (plus its edgebinding)?👇

In the search that led to finding Mr. Penuel George Corbin, I also turned up this pic (a bit grainy!) of Taunton’s School Staff in 1960. I started there as an earnest but breezy 11yr old in my little round ‘Alf Garnett’ NHS specs in 1962, so most of these teachers were familiar to me.

‘Corbin’ house: had a bit of a dig around to find this, but seemingly named after Penuell George Corbin, a former Headmaster of the school.

It’s ‘Cayley Express’ btw. How much of this is regularly open off-season may be an issue, but there’s always next summer for a rematch v the seven-year-olds😂

They were out in town today, opportunistically piggy-backing onto an otherwise nice, wholesome Saturday makers’ market event and local Air Cadets Poppy Day collection.

Propaganda leaflet, on its way to the recycling bin.⬇️

Not long left (deadline 31 October) if you are a National Trust member and haven’t yet voted in the AGM. It’s quick and easy to do online (have your Membership card to hand), and voting for the NT’s recommended resolutions and election candidates is a convenient way to support its aims and work.

Photos, Steve - hope you weren’t holding your breath for all this time…! We downsized houses a few yrs ago so it was a matter of making time to move stuff (grandchildren’s toys, etc 😂) to be able to get to the guitar. A bit more info in the alt text, like wot the excellent Weird Guitars bloke does!

😃I keep coming back to look at this; puts me in mind of an Impressionist painting (can’t remember which artist), or maybe the work of Corot or Maurice de Vlaminck.
It’s a great, richly-atmospheric photo!

Glorious colours!
Coincidentally, I had taken a pic yesterday of some sycamore leaves that my little grandchildren collected on our way home from school on Friday afternoon. Yours look more exotic - a Norway maple, maybe ?

“Mary!” “Mary!” “Mary!” “Me and Paul have seen this groovy guitar called an HS Anderson Kite and we really, really both want one!” “Just look at him, he’s still mesmerised…!”

Thank you, Caroline Lucas! Integrity, empathy and measured, reflective response as always. Angela Rayner as a forceful, inspirational character is a loss to cabinet-level politics. Made a mistake and made amends. Out of office for now, but I hope that in due course she can rise the ranks again.

There’s got to be an ice-cream pun somewhere that’s better than this?👇(Best that I could do just off the top of my head.)

(No disrespect intended to this or any ice-cream product in and of itself, btw.)

So -seemingly, he can please himself whether he can be bothered to turn up for work at the job - that we the general public including his constituents - pay him for doing?
Here is an extract from what he might reasonably be expected to be involved in today, including Prime Minister’s Question Time:

Hey, Sky News - do you intend to pass this footage on to the police, to be used with any relevant CCTV from the location….?

Drinking alcohol in the street may also be a local bye-law/ antisocial legislation (?) issue.

Off this topic, I just bought this CD from a local charity-shop (US equivalent = thrift-store).
Have a guess which brand Nanci’s first guitar was😉:-

I wonder if Jeffrey Levin ever went into a British sweet shop (candy store) in the 1970’s?👇
I’m only teasing, I like the looks of the woodworking and fittings on this bass very much.
