Ooh, thank you Misako! Happy New Year to you too. The writers retreat was like a magical experience for my wife and I.

I’ve truly enjoyed learning about art history from your blog. It took me a long time to realize how much I missed not taking art history classes in college. 🙏

I didn’t hear this one, but I really liked listening to the Unsung History podcast episode with you. Learned some things!

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

Hi Tom, as part of my study of Weimar, I am interested in getting a copy of this article. Thank you!

A gentle and beautiful way of explaining grace, thank you Sarah. 🌼

I also bought it some time ago, and read the first eight chapters. It’s haunting to read, but I should persevere because it does seem to reflect what’s been going on now.

I’ve actually ‘clicked’ a word (more than once) in a paperback. 😂

Sorry to hear that you had that experience. Another good reason to use BlueSky. Very supportive environment here.

I was in the Camp Sherman area a couple of weekends ago and the Tamaracks, subspecies of Larch, were incredible!

I can imagine Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin hiding under those roots. 😀

All of our meals prepared by an incredible chef, making for some fun times. The House had several places to sit quietly and write, incl. a desk (two in our room) of your own, fireside sofas and comfy chairs, and outdoor patios. Quite honestly, I am transformed and am ready to write! #writing 2/2

Incredible! I can stare at it and the darker waters seem to rumble.

Good article, congrats. I’m currently reading Vertigo: The Rise and Fall of Weimar Germany, written by a German cultural journalist (& transl to Eng). Full of cultural clashes betw supporters of the nascent Republic and supporters of the rightist groups and a return to monarchy.
