Oh thank God, I was worried all of this was real. Big relief to find out I'm a figment of your imagination

Not sure about later zoomers or gen alpha though. I've definitely known people who would've used a chatbot to try to skate through college if it was available to them.

I'm a zoomer (born in 2000) and LeetCode was huge in college. I graduated just as ChatGPT started gaining traction, but I don't think people really started using it to cheat at interviews yet, cause it was still considered a novelty.

I do, but I've been strongly considering switching to Linux completely. Windows 10 being phased-out is a big factor in that for me. I'd use Windows Vista before being subjected to a Mac though lol.

Incredible. This game should be game of the year every year.

A safer way might involve no external database, and just something tied to your SIM card or something intrinsic to your specific device. idk how that would work though. Maybe just susceptible to ransomware, but you'd be screwed anyway in that case. Regardless, there's definitely a privacy tradeoff.

Exactly, I thought the same. It's very vague what this would entail, but I don't see a way that wouldn't involve storing sensitive data that could later be breached. You'd need to at least store age along with a unique identifier per person, which suggests at least SSN or a similar identifier.

I understand Newsom's sentiment, but this seems like a horrible way to go about solving crises in under-regulated tech. If this involves sending a photo of an ID, just to be allowed to use your phone, then that's fucking stupid and a deeply concerning image for the future of our surveillance state.

If I were diagnosed autistic, I would prefix everything I said with "AUTISM ANNOUNCEMENT"

But seriously, of all the ways we could be catching up to China, you really want to go all in on chatbots? We desperately need better infrastructure, and that's where China has blown us away for years.

Just like The Manhattan Project was devastating for Japan, we can now have a Manhattan Project that's devastating for the U.S.! So exciting! If we gather some of the brightest minds to innovate something on a dangerous trajectory once again, we can make it even more harmful once again too!

And they're probably using ChatGPT or some other consumer chatbot, meaning they're just handing sensitive government data to OpenAI or something.

I agree; I think it's pretty weird to have a silent "W" in a word.

It might seem goofy, but it's just one of those things that makes life a little more fun. I'm in favor of this analogy. There's something validating about seeing self-care as a game mechanic that applies to everyone, rather than some kind of shortcoming I have.

lmao this is ridiculous. Also am I reading correctly that this is an AI-generated summary OF a disclosure of AI-generated content? Cause I find that even funnier.
