Cor, this stuff is a bit moreish.

Stitching into waxed handmade silk paper, hoping to give the impression of seaweed (to integrate into a larger piece).

Using vintage threads inherited from my mum, and great aunt Mabel.

On a wooden table there is a fan-shaped piece of blue and white silk paper, which is embellished with chain stitch embroidery in shades of green. There are 2 reels of green cotton, 2 bobbins with green embroidery floss, and a round plastic container of beeswax also visible.

This #SlowStitch started off quite differently, as I pondered bringing together my mini weaving and silk paper. Then I got ill, and the fever took over!

Handstitching, beading and weaving onto handmade silk paper and felt.
An abstract fiber art work. A rectangular piece of fabric, covered in stitching, mainly a randomised blanket stitch in various colours. The colour palette is reds, purples, pinks and yellows. A small weaving of gold, orange and red stripes provides a focal point.

Current yarn doodlings. My first twill #weaving and a mini sampler started in a "use your stash" online Embroiderers' Guild workshop this week. Both made with rescued yarn remnants. Loving both techniques, very free flowing and mindful, following it where it takes me.

Had a really enjoyable visit to Salford Museum & Art Gallery today. A great mix of exhibits. Highlights were the Pilkington ceramics, Christy Burdock, and the Victorian street mock-up. Recommend!
