British Columbia artist currently travelling Vancouver Island with his family. Retired journalist.
Part of our family's recent travels included a trip to Thompson, Manitoba, and a boat ride on Paint Lake, where we had a cabin back in the 80s. This work was inspired by the beautiful shield shore.
"Painting Paint Lake 1", acrylic, 30 x 24. It's available for sale, message me if you're interested!

Took part in several wonderful artists' festivals in Whitehorse. A plein air event in 2012 had us move around town each day for a week. This is a "Taylor House fence", acrylic. In a private collection somewhere in the Yukon. www.boivinarts.com

A swift-flowing mountain stream near Nakusp. It's probably beginning to rise now with spring run-off in the alpine. The creek's name escapes me and apparently AI still doesn't know everything. "The Eddy", 10x12", acrylic, in private collection.

I began painting again while living in the Yukon, a fabulous place of remarkable beauty. Stuck in the studio one winter, I let myself imagine a Yukon landscape. Anyone who's lived in the territory will recognize this place that doesn't exist. 'Yukon Fantasy', acrylic, 24x30, private collection.

Not all landscapes have to be in the wild. Staying at a home with fabulous gardens, I decided to try a plein air out my back door. Work in progress. www.boivinarts.com
