The Los Angeles Traffic Ordinance of 1925 went into effect 100 years ago today.
According to the L.A. Record, the first person arrested as a jaywalker was Charles Thompson, who was crossing Broadway between Seventh and Eighth streets, in downtown L.A., at 12:35 am.
