Previously unknown (to me) car at today's Dayton, Ohio Concours d'Elegance in Carillon Park.

If TV Batman had happened 9 years earlier the 1957 Lincoln Premiere could have been a great Batmobile.

A perfect bridge between the '30s/'40s comic Batmobiles & the Futura adapted for TV in '66.

If someone says "Sergio Pérez," it's "Checo" – Mexican Formula One driver, who, alongside Dutch racer Valtteri Bottas, will pilot the Cadillac F1 Team cars in 2026!

I've 13 cars but, only 6 of 12 in the collection.

I've 2 Mercedes, 4 Williams, 2 Haas, 1 F1 Academy, 1 Red Bull (notably un-badged), & 3 no-names (Cadillac?).

Need 2 McLaren, 2 Ferrari, 2 Aston Martin, 2 Racing Bulls, 2 Kick Sauber, 2 Alpine, 1 Red Bull, & 1 F1 Academy.

Bug watch '25: In the first four days of nice weather I've already seen 2 tiny jumping wolf spiders, one little red ladybug type beetle, numerous gnats, a handful of other miscellaneous things crawling around, and just spotted my first web strand - one end floating free, glinting in the sunlight.

3 panels (of hundreds) that caught my eye tonight, found in the 1945 book "Comics Cavalcade," a collection of newspaper and magazine cartoons, edited by Thomas Craven.
A 1911 single-panel cartoon by T.S. Sullivant depicting a stampede of wild, long-horned, bovidae; captioned, "All the gnus that's fit to print." An 1899 single-panel cartoon by M.A. Woolf of a street scene in a busy small town. A boy wistfully observes a nearby barefoot girl. The caption reads, "The Course of True Love," etc. He: "There's the only girl I ever loved, an' I dassent go near her 'cause she's gittin' the measles." A single panel from a one-page story cartoon by R.F. Outcault, featuring the Yellow Kid contemplating careers in each picture. He's holding an artist's paintbrush and pallette. After the Oscars, I'm back to playing catch-up with F1 pre-season testing. Very happy to see Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari. 🏎️ Looking forward to Carlos Sainz w/Williams. Fingers crossed for Haas. Hopeful for Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin. And good luck to the raft of rookies this season! 🏁

There are some infosec folks who are playing semantics or splitting hairs or saying ‘let’s wait and see’ in defense of what the DOGE workers are doing. If they witnessed such sloppy cybersecurity in any corporate environment, they would be screaming bloody murder. Why the double standard? Why?

The "sense of wonder" mentioned here is the exact reaction I had reading of the reboots. I chose not to comment on that aspect only because I couldn't determine if the change in "wonder"-level was internal or external to my experience. After all, I was still mostly a kid when I read OMNI magazine.

I'll take a look.

As much as I miss it, we live in such a different time now that I'm not sure how OMNI would fit in anymore because, well, the past quarter century.

The sense of wonder about new tech is mostly dead, and I can't blame people.
