No Marxist should tell you that On Authority is a flawless piece. Its relevance in this context is to introduce the ideas that authority as a concept is not exclusively an ethical concern, and that authority as a phenomena can be systemic as well as social.

I'd recommend checking out On Authority by Engels for a better understanding of the Marxist position (it's a really quick read). The fight for complete equality among all oppressed peoples is the project of Communism, which is necessarily developed out of a Socialist society. (State & Rev)
