Please remind everyone that library cards are NOT free-- they are pre-paid. Everyone has already paid for them.

I checked. This is accurate. I sent a message to NPR to ask them to cover this and see if anyone else who is not a straight white man is also being erased and insulted.

No idea if they will, but keep passing this around.
This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

There are two types of people who owe taxes: I’ll just send it in now and get it over with or I’m not giving them a penny before I have to and won’t mail it in until April 15. There is nothing in between

I can’t remember where I read this, but it’s important:

Why is it that when people think about traveling to the past, they worry about doing something small that will drastically change the present, but no one in the present thinks that doing something small today can drastically change the future?

YOU can help immigrant victims of domestic and sexual violence, many of whom are right now trapped with their abusers because of ICE. They cannot call 911 or go to the ER. ASISTA helps them. ONE CLICK gets a vote for a #p4A2025 grant to keep them going!

One way I deal with stress is reading. Another way is looking at pretty pictures. Hence all the reposts of pretty space pictures

Golden fire paints the sky.
Night’s last whisper drifts on by.
Waves reflect the embered glow,
Tides that shimmer, ebb, and flow.

A lighthouse stands in dawn’s embrace.
Shadowed clouds begin to race.
Hope ignites where the dark has been,
A brand-new day will rise again.
