I was showing the difference between a quotation and a paraphrase. I used the sentence "Vygotsky is the GOAT" to sum up a three sentence paragraph explaining that Vygotsky is, in fact, the GOAT. And did I get a single laugh? Yes, and yes I will be living on that high for the rest of this term.

We're doing a two night Brownie camp in half term for £60 including all food/activities etc. £185 seems excessive.

New Article from C&RL: "'I don't think librarians can save us:' The material conditions of information literacy instruction in the misinformation age" by Amber Willenborg and Robert Detmering.

New Article: "I don't think librarians can save us": The material conditions of information literacy instruction in the misinformation age. Authors: Amber Willenborg & Robert Detmering. This national qualitative study investigates academic librarians’ instructional experiences, views, and challenges regarding the widespread problem of misinformation. Findings from phenomenological interviews reveal a tension between librarians’ professional, moral, and civic obligations to address misinformation and the actual material conditions of information literacy instruction, which influence and often constrain librarians’ pedagogical and institutional roles. The authors call for greater professional reflection on current information literacy models that focus on achieving ambitious educational goals, but which may be unsuitable for addressing the larger social and political crisis of misinformation.

Started King and Conqueror knowing nothing about it except the posters, and I was very much presuming that James Norton was playing William because Harold quite famously were the one with the moustache.

Today in AI Is Not A Good Source For Learning About The World's Most Misunderstood Body Part, meet this ChatGPT gem.

Funnily enough, we're actually going to talk about how most of this is kinda sorta right (for small values of right), as a cautionary tale about generative AI.
Screenshot of a reddit post: ChatGPT asked if I wanted a diagram of what's going on inside my pregnant belly.

A screenshot of ChatGPT's response. It is a side view of a foetus gestating in the uterus. The foetus is head-up with no umbilical cord or placenta. Behind the uterus is the rectum, which is unlabelled. Trailing down from between the rectum and spine, extending beneath the buttocks to the inner thigh is a yellow line labelled "pudendal nerve. At the front is an oval-shaped part labelled "cervix". And then we really struggle to image describe this bit. The uterus and the bladder are both attached to a single part which is long inside, then extends downwards into a penis with a single exist. This penis is labelled "rectum".

The amount of times my work has been cited in course committees etc as good practice and can I now find all this? Can I heck. If someone says something nice about you WRITE IT DOWN.

As I continue my quest to finish my SFHEA I am reflecting that, whilst Chartership taught me to write down everything I ever do, and the PGCHE taught me to reflect on what I do afterwards, SFHEA is teaching me to keep every bit of feedback you ever get
