The cost of health care has an enormous impact on real people’s lives - thank you to everyone who shared their story with me in South Jersey today. It’s vital to remind DC who we’re fighting for.

Great to hear from the people of New Jersey today at Bethany Baptist Church. They want their health care and utility costs lower, and the GOP to reopen our government.

My office is taking calls everyday about the effects of Trump’s shutdown and rising health care costs. We have to fight for these New Jerseyans.

I am proud to stand up for New Jerseyans facing rising costs in the Senate, but the Republicans in the House are refusing to even show up. We have to come together to lower health care costs for the American people.

Listen to what this Republican mother had to say to Speaker Johnson this morning.

If he's not willing to listen to us, I hope he'll listen to the American people. Families are hurting, and Republicans have the power to put a stop to it. We're at the table. We're waiting.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Some of Trump's most fervent supporters know that health care costs are out of control, and something must be done.

Jersey, did you know Trump is targeting our state? Delaying funding for the Hudson Tunnel Project, which is a vital part of the project to double rail capacity between New Jersey and New York City.

Stopping these funds, is illegal and completely unacceptable.

I look forward to securing these grants with you AG Bondi, as you promised. New Jerseyans are depending on us both.

My office has asked the State Department to ensure that U.S. citizens and New Jerseyans from the Global Sumud Flotilla who were detained in Israel are provided consular services, treated with dignity, and released quickly.

Can you and your family afford to pay double or even triple the price for health insurance? Trump and Republicans have let the government shut down instead of lowering the cost for American families.
booker.senate.gov
I’ve heard from many New Jerseyans how Trump and Senate Republicans' policies have made working families poorer and sicker.

We have to come together to reopen the government and lower costs for Americans.

58 years ago, Thurgood Marshall made history joining the Supreme Court. We can still honor his legacy today.

Trump withholding federal funding for the Hudson Tunnels to punish his political opponents is a blatantly illegal action that threatens nearly one hundred thousand working class jobs, wastes taxpayers money, and damages the safety and economic wellbeing of our nation.

Eight years ago today, a shooter killed 60 people and injured 800 more at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas.

Armed with 13 rifles equipped with bump stocks, the shooter was able to fire more than 1,000 rounds in 11 minutes, devastating the nation and shattering hundreds of families.

To everyone observing Yom Kippur, I wish you an easy and meaningful fast. May the year ahead bring peace, hope, and goodness. G’mar Chatimah Tovah.

Many Americans have uncertainty. We’re facing rising health insurance premiums, a chaotic president, and now a government shutdown. We must stand up for people across this country.

I’ve heard from New Jerseyans and Americans, they want us to fix this mess Trump and Republicans created. Democrats are ready to lower health care costs and reopen the government.
booker.senate.gov
Trump admitted in the Oval Office he is shutting the government down. Democrats are ready to stop your health insurance costs from doubling.
booker.senate.gov
There is one reason the government is shutting down: Republicans and Trump have refused to work with Democrats  to lower health care costs.
booker.senate.gov
According to Trump who owns a government shutdown? The President.
booker.senate.gov
Republicans and Trump have been pushing us towards a shutdown for months. Instead of coming together to lower health care costs for Americans, they chose politics and partisanship.
booker.senate.gov
Trump was clear, if there is a shutdown it’s a black mark on his presidency. We can keep the government open and lower health care costs for working Americans, if he chooses to lead.
booker.senate.gov
The government is going to shut down and your health insurance is going to go up–why don't we have a deal?

Take it from Trump: The President of the United States has to get this done.
