The USAF removed Tuskegee Airmen & Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII from basic training curriculum. For 30 years I promised these women I would not let them ever be forgotten again. We worked for decades to have them remembered. The Airmen too. Knowledge is power. 🗃️ www.msn.com/en-us/societ...

Love is the most precious commodity on earth. Not the Hallmark movie kind - the lay your life down for a friend, pray for your enemies, hope all things kind. It will outperform every other investment you make, and it is the best antidote in an evil world.

No matter what, these birds sing. I reckon as a person of faith maybe the reason they do is because they know what matters most in all the world can never be taken from us & our Maker is unmoved, joyful & in full control &, best of all, I said BEST OF ALL, he has us a new day coming. A new creation.

So many people have lost their fear of the Lord. When we mock, relentlessly judge & make jokes about people who are suffering so we can maintain our political take, we’ve forgotten there’s a God in the heavens who hears. Humility is recognizing we are all just one disaster from losing everything.

I know this kind of stuff gets thrown in the category of toxic legalism nowadays but I’m willing to risk it. Lol. I’m telling you as a sister, friend and an Auntie that I’ve lived a long time, experienced and observed a lot and seen long-term effects of habits, both bad and good.

The significance of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree is well told by Emily Hunter McGowin in her Christmas book (IVP). It is a particular strength of her book that she emphasizes the importance of Jesus' lowly origins and ministry to the disadvantaged.

I'm late with this, but the Twelve Days last till Jan. 6. Emily H McGowin's Christmas book (in same IVP series as my Epiphany) digs into the entire season not only theologically but also with emphasis on the "lowly," marginal people whom God loves. These 2 pages give a good sample of what she's done

There is a certain comfort in hopelessness. It allows us to guard our hearts from being wounded again. The gospel calls us to the dangerous work of believing that God might indeed be active in our world that in the midst of so much darkness there is still space for light.
