Being able to get this across the street from my place makes it even better.

I like this beer a lot. It's nothing super special, but it's good, dependable, and will always remind me of a great family vacation in a country I love dearly. It goes well with a meal, and doesn't leave you feeling bloated.

We went to Okinawa for vacation a couple of years ago. For a birthday gift, she took me to the Orion Brewery tour in Nago. It was a lot of fun, and on our vacation I drank a fair bit of Orion. I even bought my little glass on that trip.

My wife is Japanese, and New Year is way more important to her than Christmas. And the stars aligned so I was able to get this as my neighbourhood liquor store for today.

This was the porter that really made me a fan of porters. Rich, strong flavour, with a decent shot of chocolate, a warm smell, and lovely dark colour.

I have yet to try anything else by Phillips, but I have had a LOT of these over the years. Fantastic stuff! Went well with my game of D&D.

I encourage you all to support Alberta's wealth of micro brewries. Shop small, shop local, shop Canadian.
Elbows up and Merry Christmas.

Post Siptum:

Bear in mind these are all thoroughly subjective reviews from an amateur enthusiast who likes to try new things. If you disagree with me on any of these, that's totally cool. Enjoy what you enjoy without fear of judgement.

I don't love it, but it's ok. If I had to finish with an IPA, it's a respectable choice.

If this beer were a person, it would be a valkyrie, carrying the honourable away to a quaffing paradise. Dark, beautiful, mighty, and more than a little dangerous.

This is a drink to be served in Valhalla.

Yes, I quite liked this one.

This was certainly the prettiest can in the case so far, and very on-brand for this business/art page.

I enjoyed the flavour, and would buy it if spotted in the wild.

I don't know if it will make me play organ-controlled stormtrooper hockey or not. Coo loo coo coo coo coo coo coo!

Every so often, I think I catch a hint of it, but them the hops stomp on my tongue, throttle my tastebuds, and scream gustatorially that "THIS IS AN IPA!" Like I could forget.

It's not the worst IPA in this case so far, but it's not the best. Is it supposed to have pineapple juice in it? I dunno. The can art strongly implies it.

Just make an all IPA one, for the hipsters and freaks, and an IPA-free one for people who want to taste literally anything but a cold can of hops tea. </RANT>
