I’m hiding out in my grandma’s sewing room to get away from all the noise in the living room. I hate when I get migraines the day of a holiday. It’s so d*mn loud out there. >_< even with the noise cancelling headphones in I can hear everything. #Thanksgiving

Woke up with a migraine… curse the snow storm that rolled in today. I have taken meds, am nursing some caffeine, and praying this will go away before we need to leave for family stuff. My cousin is going to be there with his wife and 4 kids who are all under 11. 🫩

You are to be on your best behavior for Max and Chaos,” she said, and I tried not to let my face sour at her name. “No running off on your own, no disobeying orders, and no explosions.” Well, that was going to be easier said than done, given that I hadn’t meant to cause that big of an explosion last time. The Fœmoræ simply fucked around and found out. Packana watched us in silence, and I turned to him. “That’s it? I’m being sent to Paris to be his trainee for one last case then say goodbye,” I theorized. There was no way I’d be allowed to remain his trainee when he was so far away... “They have life stuff to work out after connecting, and I don’t want to get in the middle of it or sway their decision. Besides, I need more alone time after dealing with so many people for two weeks.” I logged out of the game and opened my current work in progress. My chat cheeped with a message from her that contained a link but nothing more. “That’s his chick-chat profile,” she said, and I flipped to the chat. I took one look at the username and barked a hollow laugh. “You’ve got to be kidding me. Lil Mouse?” It was ironic and sort of endearing, but I spouted the next thing to pop into my head, “It should be Big Moose.” Chaos guffawed, and a triumphant grin lifted my lips as my mind ran through the pros and cons of messaging him, but I was missing several key factors. Where did he live? Where did he work? Was he a night owl or a morning person? There were too many variables to come to a decision, and my head started pounding. Rather than get a migraine, I decided to ask Chaos my questions. A Small Square of the title of the book, because it's not coming out until 2027 or 2028. It says Death, Desires, and Inner demons. We can see a woman's torso and lower half with jeans and a hoodie. She is also holding an hour glass that is running out of sand, and has wings...

Maybe your reputation wasn’t all rumour after all.” She winked at me, and Chaos looked to me. “Reputation?” she asked. I didn’t answer. “He’s got a reputation for violence and kicking Underworld ass—” When Jael lifted an eyebrow and slightly rocked the baby carrier, Chaos blinked at her then slowly looked to me. “Is there another reputation I should know about?” “Nothing but rumours. You know my past,” I stated, not going into detail. She blinked up at me, her mismatched eyes dulling for a moment as she thought about that. “Do you need my GPS?” she asked, pulling her phone from her clutch as I started Revenge. I shook my head in answer and pulled my phone out. I tapped the radio, and it connected automatically, via the Angelic chip. “Just type it in, and Revenge will tell me where to go,” I said, feeling awkward for having to use it. Normally, I followed scent trails. I could’ve followed the one Kotys’s Aston left, but that would take us to the Kandy Shop and Dorm, which was nearly on the opposite side of the city. She punched in the address and handed my phone back. I tapped go, and slipped the phone into a hidden groove on the dash over the radio. It was just big enough for the thin smartphone to sit in while being invisible. She blinked and tilted her head then leaned forward to drag her finger along the groove. “Well, that is a nifty mod. No need for a mount, or a GPS on the dashboard. Those big screens mess with my night vision,” she commented with a smile. Her mind drifted to her car that Nevari and Liam, the golden dipshits, exploded just after we met. I knew two things for sure. A few minutes later, four large preters with muscles bigger than his filed out. They dipped their heads to us then walked right out the front doors wholly unbothered by the crowd. I stepped to the corner and watched as two of them started distracting paparazzi while the other two went to the parking lot. As the second two walked to the truck, I noticed a van with a logo for one of the local news stations by the curb. It wasn’t just paparazzi, there was a full fledge news crew or two as well. Fuck me. Court room dramas always make trials feel dynamic and explosive. It’s actually quite boring and utterly nerve wracking at the same time. This wasn’t the initial hearing, and I was tired of coming back to court when I had so many other obligations, but there was so much evidence against the Council that had to be presented. Thankfully, the Hospital settled outside of court with a million-dollar compensation and firing of several staff members, including my uncle, Larock Healer. I felt a little guilty about that, because he had supplied us with information for the case against the Council. In the end, I had to remember that it wasn’t my fault. He chose to do what he did and now he was facing the consequences.

Oh! Most of my fav authors are women, but my top fav has got to be Laurell K Hamilton’s Anita Blake Novels. Book one is Guilty Pleasures.

The MC is a short, curvy pale “china doll” type look but she’s a badass marshal and necromancer. If you haven’t read them you should!
