Nice video. I don't want to boast, but my design is both simpler and superior. Perhaps we should put details in the Thymes. The most important aspect is time of year and twig selection.

There is a long tradition of making whistles from Sambucus. The process involves removing the pitch, rather different from those made with Acer twigs.

Pollinium (pollinia=plural): pollen grains held together and distributed as a single group.

Broad-leaved Helleborine, Epipactis helleborine. Insects attracted to nectar-like substance in the bowl of lower lip. Insect brushes against glue-blob (viscidium) which is attached to the pollinia.
