A fascinating talk from Sue McBean @organicbotanic.bsky.social illustrating through her beautiful wild plant photos how we can look with new eyes at the plants we study. Very inspiring. I’m now going to be looking at the underside of celandines! @bsbiireland.bsky.social #BSBIAutumnMeeting

Here's a story for you all, about how - without really knowing what I was doing - I accidentally found a plant that had only ever been seen in Britain once before.

The beautiful Wood Anemone, such a joyous wildflower, an ancient woodland indicator & one of the classic signs of spring. Have you seen a #WoodAnemone flowering this year? The challenge this week is to find one! Share your pics for #WildflowerHour this Sunday 8-9pm!
One of the earliest woodland plants to flower and a classic sign of spring, the photo shows the beautiful white star-shaped flowers of the Wood Anemone. With its gorgeous dissected green leaves it’s a joy to encounter a carpet of this gorgeous wildflower!
