Chasing the full moon at El Matador, I met a coyote at the top of the bluff. He trailed me as I shot, popping in and out of view. As dawn broke and more humans came, he vanished—this was my last photo, and it wasn’t until editing that I saw him in the distance. Thanks, my furry assistant.!

Sometimes you release the shutter and something magical happens. The model, the light, the fabric, the timing. Wish I could say it was me, but I’m just as surprised. Being a photographer is being present and aware. And lucky. I love this photo.
