Judaism only became a separate religion from Christianity and Islam 500 years ago, distortions of the ордынская вера which Judaism is the closest remnant of. I laughed reading Mahmoud Mamdani. Neither Settler nor Native? Absolutely. Why? It can only come about when we embrace our true Horde past.

I went to both public and private schools and with a tiger mom did not have the option to not take non-advanced classes. Had some very rough years in undergrad and later on trying to find a healthy balance and healthy coping mechanisms.

My parents yelled at school administrators for even suggesting I get assessed. Only got treatment as an adult.

ADHD and whether it was treated or not was always an issue and a sensitive one. I brought in chess to help with improving repetition, problem solving and pattern recognition. Least controversial game in a very traditional environment one can use.

true, which is why it helps to have teachers at all grades who want to help them not hate it and have the patience to teach them in ways that work towards that goal.

There was no ideological resistance to it. Merely the quality of the curriculum. From my POV there was no reason multi-lingual students who studied complex texts all morning shouldn’t be held to the same standards for taking math just as seriously. Nearly all had the aptitude for it.

As I’ve mentioned before. The running joke was bringing in us Russophone Lubavitchers who went to secular schools to see how long we’d last trying to teach Algebra & WW1 while kids made jokes in Yiddish knowing we were neither native or L1 speakers.

When I subbed 3-4 times a week in secular studies at a Litvak yeshiva the main issues were math, science, & social studies/history. All my classes were in English. School was open to other denominations as this is LA so my classes had plenty of Sephardim. Hassidic schools same issue.

This is not reflected in his Wikipedia which relies on a family member’s inaccurate Geni account. No doubt Witkoff has been part of a lot of bad deals but this assumption that grandparents who fled Tsarist Russia means he is Russian keeps being spread.

There is a lot of misinfor being passed around that Witkoff is of Russian descent and is from a Russian speaking family. His grandparents were Yiddish speakers from:

Grodno, Belarus
Malech, Belarus.

I have very fond memories of clothes-lining then kicking a VLV poster in the ribs at a Fucked Up show who had posted a photo of my friend topless. The accountability of forums was much better than our current era.

YES. AJ English was in front of us in the line to get in with that leather jacket with the TT logo on the back. He was in Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” video that year. He’s got a band called Patriarchy now.
