When I worked for a veterinarian we occasionally had to treat dogs who tried to jump over these fences and didn't quite make it. They suffered terrible injuries.

Not with all that light, but in bright conditions like this I use a red filter with Fomapan 100 to get the exposure time longer. Even with the filter it was probably only a few seconds. I shot an entire roll in that spot that afternoon and this was my favourite.

Thanks! It was worth standing around in the cold for this shot.😀

Thanks, Jim! This is one from last winter; the ice blocks haven't formed yet this month.

Nice job! Amazing that you were able to guess the exposure like that.

Hahah, not this time! I was there to stop by Photo Service Montréal, which unfortunately is closing at the end of this month after 83 years in business. I bring my used fixer there; they recover the silver and dispose of it properly.

I shoot all the Fomapan films at 1/2 box speed, so Foma 100 at 50 or 80, Foma 200 at 100, and Foma 400 at 200 or at most 320. It almost never looks good to me at box speed. Foma Ortho 400, however, is good at box speed; I don't shoot it much in 120 though because it's very curly.

Wow, I didn't know that place actually existed! There's a joke about it to demonstrate how you can have five "ands" in a row in a sentence: after the sign was finished the owner said he thought there should be more space between "pig" and "and" and "and" and "whistle."
