Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who sent good wishes for this handsome doofus a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, we had to let him go, at the grand old age of 16. Thanks to everybody who sent him good wishes and virtual skritches, we appreciated each and every one.

Amazing turn-out in Leeds for the Stand up to Racism protest yesterday. Failed to get a decent crowd shot of the thousands of people there - 3,000 people turned out to say NO to racism in Leeds. A brilliant day, thoroughly restored my faith in the human spirit

Also managed to catch the Literature in Leeds exhibition at Abbey House Museum when teaching a writing workshop there on Friday - it's still on, and entry is FREE. Also features work by Becky Cherriman, Khadijah Ibrahim, Lisa Holdsworth, Chris Nickson, and some of the local bookshops

PURCHASED this rather EXCELLENT LOOKING book at the weekend: The Book Of Bogs, forthcoming in November, edited by Anna Chilvers and Clare Shaw. It's all about bogs! The clue is in the title! and I know some of you weirdos will be very interested in buying a copy, so here's a photo of it
