The efficiency of Bradley Morgan’s 'U2 Until The End of the World' belies its heft with a fairly thorough chronicle of the mega-successful Irish band’s history, without any overt agenda or slanted editorializing. REVIEW:

Ha! I wish! But as for comedic references, Mel Brooks’s “Hitler Rap” gets namedropped as source material for an album title!

Thanks to @glidemag.bsky.social for this review of my new U2 book on the eve of its publishing.

“Bradley Morgan certifies his scholarship…those academic touches ratify this title as a ‘coffee table book’ that transcends any pejorative in that descriptive phrase.”

Great track & album! I do a deep dive on this album for my book “Frank Zappa’s America” which examines the progressive commentary of Frank’s music as criticism against white Christian nationalism. First book to explore his politics and presents new scholarship on him.

Today marks 49 years since U2 first played together in Larry’s kitchen, & I feel so much gratitude for all the music & memories over the years. 25 years ago when I bought my first U2 Cd at 13, “All That You Can’t Leave Behind,” I never would have guessed where my journey with the band would take me.

I don’t need the context to know your comment on Zappa’s music/political philosophy is just a convenient excuse for you to form a willfully misinformed outlook that reinforces some bias you have.
bradleymorgan.bsky.social
No, just an informed scholar on this and other musical topics.

Not by any standard you’re implying. He actively crusaded against every conservative movement in his lifetime, and was a registered Democrat.
