Today, I’m reminded of Amanda Gorman’s words at Biden’s inauguration. We as a nation have recovered in many ways these past 4 years, but we unfortunately must repeat the mistakes of the past.

I also enjoyed The Kite Runner. I started this book since I’ve seen it repeatedly in AP Lit teacher groups. Although Kite Runner is far from a “relaxing read,” (I cried several times), I found its themes of guilt, belonging, change, and obligation extremely powerful.
