Am I the only one who doesn't check the "remember my decision" on prompts, but I alwasy choose the same option? I'm just scared of the eternal commitment of the computer remembering to discard my changes, or close all my tabs, or whatever else it is

There should be a 501c3 SaaS that takes donations and then distributes directly to open source maintainers. 1. Login, 2. select maintainers, 3. setup autopay. Benefits are - easier contribution, and leverage company matching to double the impact

I feel like over the last 4-5 years, the finding-new-music process and experience at spotify has gone down hill. I think spotify is becoming a victim of its own success. the pressure to constantly grow and do more is pushing them into other audio/video features - and that's killed what it was.

Recently asked my wife:
If you could never have a cell phone again - in 20 or 40 years, what things would you regret missing out on that you would have had if you had kept the phone?

This conversation led me to purge my phone. All video streaming, all social media, and so much other junk gone.

A great new site from @kentcdodds.com . I've long thought, and heard others express how we need some sort of "Hippocratic oath for software engineering" and these Epic Programming Principles align with that though, in particular "Do Good"

I have wanted a pomodoro timer in the terminal/tmux. There are some solutions out there, tmux plugins, etc. But, I decided to make my own.

here's a gist: gist.github.com/bbassett/53e...

just run `pomo` and get a timer. it's basic (you can't skip or configure on the fly) but it's what I wanted

I've recently fallen down the rabbit hole of going back to a pen and paper for keeping notes, managing my schedule, journaling, and generally recording my thoughts. The difference in terms of the value I have derived from my notes is _immense_. I highly recommend it!

How much Deep Work did you get done today? Today was a very good day for me, an outlier. If I get 3-4 hours of deep work in a day I feel it’s a success.

Postgres is highly underrated. Here are some guides for getting better at it, or just better understanding sql in general

I normally just use ‘psql’ but this looks nicer for browsing

Harlequin is a drop-in replacement for the DuckDB CLI, SQLite CLI, psql, etc. that brings SQL IDE features to your terminal.
