Inconsistent electronic(?) musician in Exeter, UK circuitously via Chicago. I do other things too but I'm mainly here to talk about music. My music lives here: https://moonatlasrecords.com

At long last, I am excited to finally announce the release of my new album, "Here, Beneath the Ash-Choked Sky", available now on Bandcamp and streaming.

PREORDER: 'Jelly Tones' by Ken Ishii

Sleek techno LP from the Japanese producer, hearing him tackle Detroit flavoured sounds with his own unique approach.

Yes based on your posts lately we appear to be very much on the same page!

OK and by "new music" I guess I meant "really fucking moody, feedback-based noise", which may or may not fit your definition of music but I'm pretty happy with both 20 minute pieces.

That's not to say I don't have any irons already in the fire.

I think I might have enough energy and motivation tonight to try to work on new music for the first time since...I dunno...June?

Yes! New Pynchon in the house.

I really, really hope that Big Beat never comes back.

#NowPlaying Luke Slater - Freek Funk

No Bandcamp and I'm too lazy to find another link.

"Engine One" still hits hard. "Bless Bless" is an instant skip, hard no. "Filter 2" is amazing.

Sadly no DMs for me as I'm in the UK and haven't age-verified!

I'm sure I saw Everybody Wants Some but I have almost no memories of it, which isn't a good sign. I haven't seen anything else post-Boyhood.

If this weren't a public space I'd say something about the first time I saw A Scanner Darkly.
brandoninvergo.bsky.social
Yes!

I was so obsessed at the time that I had both 2xCD versions (the other had Satan Live and The Saint) *and* the individual Times Fly, The Box, Satan Live, and The Saint EPs.

#NowPlaying Orbital - In Sides

In high school I had a different Orbital t-shirt for almost every day of the week.

#NowPlaying Autechre - Anvil Vapre

I rarely listen to this, usually opting instead to listen to the Garbage EP and anyway being a bit burnt out on Second Bad Vilbel. But obviously, it's great.

Absolutely. Don't forget chapter 4: urban decay.

Spicy calendar idea: photos of electronic musicians not wearing their favourite jackets.

Apologies in advance: some recent purchases of various represses have transformed me into Mr. Middle-Aged Man Who Listens Only To The Music Of His Youth.

I really need Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly on 4K Blu-ray.
brandoninvergo.bsky.social
Looking at his IMDB page, I've fallen hopelessly behind. I've seen most of the essentials, I think (namely the slice of life stuff like Dazed and Confused and the rotoscoped stuff), and there's a lot of inessential stuff I think (Bernie?) and recent things.

Any particular recs?
