The D2 residents were just exposed to major messaging from the city: we need to Upzone or the state will for us. They know that state laws passed by Wiener and others forced their neighborhoods to zone for more building. There’s no getting around it.

My feeling is he is trying not to piss off his base of support in the Marina. The right NIMBYs who voted for him for State Senate against Kim because he was very tight with Stop Crime S.F. while on the BoS may not be thrilled by the development his state laws have been bringing
