I grew up on transit, bike, & work w/ ADAS transport. Everyone deserves good mobility options! Posts are my own & don't speak for my employer.

DC/PHL, now in PGH 🏳️‍🌈 all year long
Happy belated birthday!

Yes! The University Line stops and bus lanes are great downtown, though it doesn't seem that there's transit priority at the traffic lights yet. At least the one bus lane no longer has illegally parked cars anymore!

The rapid improvements in bike infrastructure & traffic calming are truly amazing!

Yes! PRT admitted that it reduced service by 13% since the pandemic alone. In my 6 years here I've seen a station close and the halving of service between Downtown & Oakland, plus frequency reductions on other lines. Also PRT is designed around rush hour commutes w/ almost all routes going Downtown.

I couldn't agree more about the name. I've been ranting about them not making it Pittsburgh Area Transit since they renamed it lol. Having the system officially be named what everyone still calls it anyway would have been great, and the "Regional" is misleading for sure!

It's a miracle there were no casualties, other than the motorist.

Wasn't this one of the requirements - or at least something strongly encouraged - with Act 89, along with the evaluation of possibly consolidating agencies (something that probably needs to happen in Pittsburgh too)?

Oh wow, I haven't seen an Optimabus Opus bus in quite a long time! I thought they were all history by now

These mitts are becoming one of my "I can't believe I didn't get this sooner!" purchases!

I believe it would be Transit and Local-Access-Only street. Local Access and Transit Street may be little easier to say, and wouldn't need the hyphens.

Smart cities are transforming transportation, reducing emissions and public costs while adding more choice and improving quality of life. COMMON SENSE!

Smart infrastructure for public transit, walking & biking is a GREAT INVESTMENT. Fund it accordingly. #ActionStartsHere @mayors4climate.bsky.social
