The President's attempts at personalizing his fundraising e-mails come off as creepy, not folksy:

"I'm drinking a Trump diet soda. And all I could think about was...YOU!!!"

Ick.

Trump imagines himself a hero, while having others do his dirty work.
Eight years ago he was sure he could have saved Parkland students from a shooter:
"I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon."
But the year before, he'd refused to WALK even 400 yards with world leaders.

Arnoldo Bazan, a 16-year-old U.S. citizen, was put in a chokehold by ICE agents.

Agents took his phone, which he tracked to a used electronics vending machine near an ICE detention center.

Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.

This is good, but the problem is, ICE doesn't follow the law. They are extensions of Trump -- break the law now, hope you can bluster through it later after you've deported families and broken their car windows and house doors.

Seconding this: I’ve reported on ICE watchers in other cities, but I’ve been struck by just the sheer number of people I’m encountering out here who are publicly participating in ICE observation.
"At schools, volunteers are forming human chains as students and employees enter and leave, with whistles to blow if ICE shows up.

Volunteers—many of them moms already involved at their schools—divvy up tasks, such as delivering groceries to immigrant families..."

Wow. We are there. U.S. democracy is not 'in danger'. It's gone, checks & balances are destroyed.
Please do what you can. Write/phone legislators daily, protest, protect your neighbors if you can.
I do know most of Bluesky is already doing all that, and many do more behind the scenes.
Thank you.
I found this useful.

Trump's White House is constantly trying to cancel funds assigned to Minnesota, which already pays 44 billion more to feds than they get back. ($7600 per Minnesotan)

Does Minnesota generate more federal revenue than it gets back?
So-called donor states pay more in federal taxes than they receive in federal revenue.

For comic relief -- many people have a favorite brand of spices that takes over our cabinets, looking confusingly alike.
Past mishaps with spices and seasonings:

#1: Accidentally putting barbecue powder in the vacuum instead of cinnamon. The living room still smelled good, just not what I expected.

Another thing we used to be able to count on.

Supposedly you could go inside a post office during open hours to have it hand-postmarked. But if many people do that, it's going to make the already understaffed post offices collapse.
USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

Trump's e-mail today touts a survey w/many questions he's used for 8 years. A minimum of $20.25 is required to click 'submit'.
A frequent question is
"Do you believe that President Trump is the best President of all time?"
Answers are "Yes - MAGA!" or "No - sorry".
At least 'no' is now an option.
