To steelman, I think there is room for addressing how to participate in Jewish community when so many institutions are currently vocally in support of things we consider abhorrent. I haven't read this book, but it doesn't sound like that's the focus.

When our water heater went we put in one with a heat pump. When the AC goes, gonna do more heat pumps. Then it's just the stove.
